Cherry Cacao Smoothie
Ingredients:
1 cup frozen sweet cherries
1/2 banana
1 cup cashew milk
1 Tbsp raw cacao powder
2 PITTED dates or a little honey (optional but reccomended as cacao can be bitter)
1/2 tsp cinnamon (optional)
Protein powder or collagen (optional)
Cherries are often forgotten when they’re not in season but frozen cherries are always available (and delicious!) Frozen fruit is frozen at peak ripeness which means that often times they contain even more nutrients. Cherries are packed with nutrients and are surprisingly high in fiber and protein. Both cherries and cacao are rich in antioxidants, making this smoothie extra good! I think of antioxidants as nature’s beauty foods since they’ve been shown to slow aging…we all want that, right?
